Partyin' at the Park

Connor is 14!!! He decided that he wanted to go to the park with some friends for a fun time of games and (what else!?) food. It was really fun following the guys around as they played games of skill and strength.

Some height was needed to tape up the "Happy Birthday" banner. This is was our solution. :-)The goal of the game was to get the 3 ping-pong balls out of the canisters with cupfulls of water. The hard part? There were holes in the bottom of the canisters. One guy had to run down to the stream while their team-mate had to cover the holes with his fingers. After the one poured the water in the can, he had to switch positions with his parter as water came streaming out of the holes. The guys got very wet, needless to say. :->Explaining the gameConnor demonstrating How ya doin' Matt? ;-)
The Smith girls sat by me and giggled at the boys getting steadily wetter as I took pictures. Can you say "egg toss?" Ooo Tim. What a trooper. The "humble" winners of the final roundMatt thought that it might be a good idea to work out before the tug-o-war game over the stream. "106...107...108..." :-)Found in the stream where they would be playing. hmmm...
" And now men, lets talk about the consequences of deserting...."

The Big Fresno Fair!

This post was meant for a LONG time ago. But because of the computer crash, the pics of the fair had to wait
........UNTIL NOW......

I only noticed this later into the day.

This was a new and fun addition to the fair this year. We took full advantage of the fact that we were the only ones milling around at 7:30 a.m. and explored it top to bottom like little kids.

First Lieutenant Timothy McCracken......

..... his sweetheart .....

......and the crew of the Lady Sepia :-)

We really had lots of fun exploring the different elements of this new addition.

Sadly, we had a little run in with some Indians and Connor was unfortunate enough as to come in the path of this Indian's knife. :-) He made a quick recovery, though.

Since no one was around, we decided to experiment with the kiddie slides. We got a good kick out of this. :-)

It took some maneuvering, but we actually got all three of us in this slide. You should try it some time.....No, really. It's quite a "bonding" experience. :-) Like I said, it took some maneuvering. And not only to get in! It was quite the evacuation process to get the three of us out. :-)Wow! Since when did pirates give the option of sliding off the ship instead of walking the plank?!Yes.....Dad too.Only after going down did I realize the slide was soaking wet.Oh, NOW they tell me.

We found the Teters wandering around too.....

..... and decided cinnamon rolls were in order.

Here are just some of the animals exhibited.

"Put your left foot in. Put your left foot out..."

And of course my personal favorite... :-)

Dad and Connor found these interesting devices in the commerce building and had a fun time messing around with them.

*And here in the lead is Tim McCracken!*

As we sat down for a bite to eat, we played around a bit with some pictures. ( As if we hadn't already) ;-)

Jenny took the time to point out to me a "mesmerizing twirly thingy" on top of a cotton candy booth.

Here are those pictures we were messing around with. (or should I say " around with which we were messing?" You have to admit, all you grammar people out there, that there are times it is OK to leave a preposition at the end of a sentence.)

Comparing family profiles

We thought that since we were all together as a family, we might as well make a stop in Egypt.....you know.....the ultimate field trip experience. :-)

Over all, we had a very enjoyable day at the fair.
