CHEFA square/contra dance

On Friday we attended the CHEFA square dance. Connor was my faithful partner all night (thank you, Connor!), well except when dad cut in for a waltz. :-)

CHEFA Saturday morning volleyball

McCrackens have built into them a love of volleyball. (well, most McCrackens....Jenny sorta missed out on those genes. But then again she also missed out on the chocolate loving genes, so....) So when Connor and I heard that CHEFA was starting to play volleyball on Saturdays, we jumped on it! "OUT!"

We were looking for a couple of old photos of Kaylee for the graduation slideshow. Oh my, the memories... her white wispy hair and deep chocolate eyes, dimples, giggles, requests of "hold you?", tree climbing, tea parties with Jenny, Connor, and any willing pets, miles of riding the range on the springy plastic horse or the wooden one Grandpa McC made, dancing while daddy played "Linus and Lucy" or "Pink Panther" (or momma played "Jingle Bells Jubilee" - even in mid-summer!).
What a delight you continue to be, Kaylee. God has guided and kept you, and continues to do so, maturing you into a young woman who honors Him and who "delights in making others glad in Him." We rejoice in your upcoming graduation and all that God has for you in the years to come.

Busted. Shamed. Remorseful?

I live mostly outside now. Bees live outside. Bees can be fun.

I have this sore, swollen mouth. Not sure why.

I've heard talk of catechizing me. Sounds fun. Cats can be fun.

And there's this guy, John Owen, and his "Mortification of Sin" stuff. Don't know much about it, but I'm thinking it's gonna be our next read aloud. Books can be good. That Steve Green music book? That was especially great on the corners.

With Grandma and Grandpa Habecker

Grandma and Grandpa Habecker came to stay with us for a week. And even though Grandma and I both had nasty colds and Grandma also had a miserable tooth ache (!!) we managed to really really enjoy the time that we had together.

We took some family photos...

...went to the Parishes' for dinner, music, and fellowship together (gave G+G a chance to see the beautiful hills covered in green green grass and the luscious wildflowers)...

...took a 4 generation photo!...

...planted the neglected tree (which is beautiful now!) in our backyard...

...spent time with Graham...

...fixed the broken door (thank you Grandpa!!)...

...and spent some more time with Graham. :-)

We loved being with you, Grandma and Grandpa. I love you so much!!
